Low Income Seniors Utility Assistance Program
City of Winter Garden Program Provides up to 90% Savings on Utility Bills for Qualifying Residents
APPLICATION PROCESS
To enroll in the program, residents must complete an application and provide required documentation anytime from January 2 – May 1 each year, as well as meet eligibility requirements. Qualified residents will receive the cost savings for a continuous 12 months, starting in May and ending the following April.
Application window is January 2 through May 1 every year. An application and required documentation to complete and return to, to the Winter Garden City Hall Reception Desk, 300 W. Plant Street, during regular operating hours (Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm), or by contacting Utility Billing Customer Service, 407.656.4100. must be submitted with application.
Following application submittal, only applicants that do NOT qualify will be notified.
Residents must apply annually for this program (it does not auto-renew).
PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
·65 years of age, or
·62 years of age and receiving Social Security benefits, and
·CITY resident continuously for the past 12 months, PRIOR to your application date, and
·Utility bill must be in applicant’s name and billed directly to applicant, and
·Gross household income for ENTIRE HOUSEHOLD MUST NOT EXCEED 60% of the Federal Poverty Income (FPI) Guidelines for the year prior to application as declared by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The HHS Income Guidelines Chart changes yearly and will be posted in Utility Bill Assistance Program News Flash on home page of www.cwgdn.com each year as the new application period commences.
SUBMIT COPIES OF THE FOLLOWING WITH APPLICATION:
*Current Year Social Security Benefit Statement, or
*Previous Year Federal Income Tax Return, and
*ALL other proof of income for entire household
